Notes
  • Beginning chains do not count as stitches
  • Chain 1 is used purposely to keep the FPdcs at the appropriate height. Changing 
    the beginning chain amount may result in taller stitches and a longer finished 
    project.
  • Slippers are worked from the toe up
  • Tutorial photos are on the last page
  • You can get a Strawberry look by making the entire toe and heel pink (or Red) 
    and the ankle solid green. Add the seeds as instructed using white yarn.

Special Stitches

Front Post Double Crochet (FPdc) = Skipping over the top loops (front loop/back loop):

YO, insert hook from right to left under the post of the double crochet below, YO,

draw up a loop, *YO, pull through two loops*2X

Back Post Double Crochet (BPdc) = Folding the top loops (front loop/back loop)

towards you and working into the opposite side of the fabric: YO, insert hook from

right to left under the post of the double crochet below current working row, YO,

draw up a loop, *YO, pull through two loops*2X

LITTLE KIDS
TOE
With Green,
1. Magic Ring, ch 1, 12 dc in ring, sl st to join (12)
2. Ch 1, (dc, FPdc) in each st arnd, sl st to join (24)
3. Ch 1, FPdc arnd, sl st to join (24)
With Bright Green,
4. Repeat round 3
With White,
5. Repeat round 3
With Pink,
6-11(12,13). Repeat round 3; Fasten.
HEEL
Continue with Pink,
Break yarn, count 9 sts to the right; attach yarn in 9th st,
1. Ch 1, FPdc in same space as ch and in next 17 sts, turn (18)
2. Ch 1, BPdc across, turn (18)
3. Ch 1, FPdc across, turn (18)
4-9. Repeat rows 2 & 3
10. Turn slipper inside out, fold heel in half, and sl st down the seam (working through 
both layers), turn
11. Ch 1, sl st in each sl st across; flip slipper right side out; continue to ankle

Break yarn, count 10 sts to the right; attach yarn in 10th st,
1. Ch 1, FPdc in same space as ch and in next 19 sts, turn (20)
2. Ch 1, BPdc across, turn (20)
3. Ch 1, FPdc across, turn (20)
4-10. Repeat rows 2 & 3
11. Turn slipper inside out, fold heel in half, and sl st down the 
seam (working through both layers), turn
12. Ch 1, sl st in each sl st across; flip slipper right side out; continue 
to ankle


ANKLE
Continue With Pink,
1. Ch 1, dc in the end of each row and in each st arnd opening, sl st to join (27)
With White,
2. Ch 1, FPdc arnd, sl st to join (27)
With Bright Green,
3-4. Repeat round 2
With Green,
5. Repeat round 2
6. Ch 1, sc arnd, sl st to join; Fasten.



Finishing
  • Thread needle with Black yarn, *insert needle under any 
    FPdc/BPdc, loop around and insert back underneath* 4X, 
    cut the tail and tuck the tails down inside the slipper. 
    Continue this around the toe and heel in desired locations.
  • Flip slipper inside out, tie yarn tails for each “seed” together.
  • Hide all strings.
